https://wtjlugl.weebly.com/blog/emulsio-app-for-mac. macOS Big Sur is a huge update to the Mac with a major UI overhaul, Control Center, Widgets and lots more. Apple has also redesigned the icons for the built in apps – some are more drastic than others.
Many like these changes, but some prefer the old look of the mixed up shapes, slanted rectangles and circles from OS X. Most icons are similar to iOS, but some, like the Messages, FaceTime and QuickTime icons have caused a bit of controversy between users.
We’ve gathered all of the app icons available in macOS 11 Big Sur and made them available to download. These are high-resolution, gathered right from macOS 11.0 Beta 1, and we’ll update them if any changes are made.
System Preferences also gets a slew of redesign icons. Whilst some are currently available, we’ve rounded up a few – such as the Screen Time and Network icons. These have a very distinct look, shiny and modern, with shadows and gradients. We’ve added the few present icons to the folder as well!

Update 01/07: We’ve sourced the new sounds in macOS Big Sur, available as playable audio files. You can set these as your own ringtones and sound effects on any device!
After years of trying the commands above (literally, 2-3 years), with almost no success due to macOS strong caching. I've discovered that the BEST, most RELIABLE way to rebuild the icon cache in macOS is to right click the app, 'Get Info', drag ANYTHING to its icon in the top left of the 'Get Info' window (you can drag a FOLDER to its icon if you want to) to assign a new temporary icon. Asset Catalog Creator takes any image and creates a full set of icons, splash screens or universal assets for you. Unlike other icon generators, batch resizers or scripts, these are produced in the latest Asset Catalog format, allowing you to drag just a single file into Xcode and have all the correctly sized and named icons identified, in the right place and ready to use.
According to Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines, every app must provide an icon to be displayed in Finder, the Dock, Launchpad and the App Store. An app should specify several different icons of different dimensions to suit different screen sizes and different situations.
You can save valuable time by using Makeappicon.com to generate app icons of all dimensions you need for submitting your apps to Apple in one click, no matter it’s built for iOS, watchOS, macOS and iMessage App & Sticker Pack, and focus on coding and improving your apps.

*There is no longer a 1024x1024 size. That’s replaced by 512x512@2x.
After creating all the icons, you should put it into a folder whose name is
icon.iconset . The folder must have the .iconset extension. It might look a bit unusual for a folder to have an extension, but this extension is a signal to the system that the folder contains a set of icons.
